Reflection Blog

My last Blog, it seems that I will never get accustomed to writing in a Blog. I never write in blogs at all, sometimes I may write in a Forum if I need something, but that is as close as it gets. I feel that writing in these blog is the online way of discussion, yet when I am in an actual classroom, I do not talk at all. I feel that it is a self esteem issue that I don’t want people to judge me by what I say, but in here I can at least check my statements before I just blurt them out. All this being said I still do not think anyone really cares what I have to say. However, as far as what I have learned or not learned, I learned that I really do not like Face book. It seems every day I check my email there are two people that somehow know me from high school that I do not want to talk to. Face book does seem better then MySpace, but I do not think I will use either in the future. I have learned that I do like Flickr, because I have used my space to post pictures of stuff that I like, but know I can do that and not have random people inserting comments that I do not like. The other thing I learned in this class is how out of the online loop I am. I thought that I knew something about one interaction. Wow was I wrong

Webkinz

Webkinz, wow my niece loves these things. They are pretty cool; they are stuffed animals that come with a web code. You can use that web code to take care of them and act like they are real animals. You have to feed them and let them play with other Webkinz. I love to see my niece who is 14, go online and feed her pets. Also one of my co-workers sons is 4 and he knows how to go online and feed his little dog, its pretty cool They are very much like a Digipet, but at least they are something you can hold

Online gaming

Online gaming, this is my second life. There has been so much that online gaming has brought to me. I play online at least 3-5 times per week. I really like how Microsoft has created Xbox live. I kept in touch with my brother who is also my best friend, and even the best man in my recent wedding, after he moved to Jacksonville Florida. We would play every night online, and with Xbox live we use headsets to talk to each other so it felt more that he was in the next room rather than 1300 miles away.

Social Bookmarking

Wow I wish I knew about social bookmarking a long time ago. It makes it so much easier for me to go back to my bookmarked pages. I know that I alone use five different Computers in a week, 3 at work my laptop and my home computer. I used to use my own way of social bookmarking before, in which I would just email myself the links I wanted to bookmark. This is so much easier

FaceBook

Wow, I know I am not the only one who wishes they were Mark Zuckerberg. I mean who can turn down a billion dollars. Ah well I guess he is worth more now, anyway. I never have used face book but I do like that people cannot view your profile unless you both agree to it. Like the reading said I like how it stops fake postings or people. I work with a few girls, and most of what the do is create new MySpace accounts, just to try and get a lot of friends. It is still very hard for me to blog, I sometimes I wonder why anyone would want to here about my boring life or what I feel about Face book.

Sept 2 social medias

Social Medias such as MySpace and you tube, have changed the way I surf the internet completely. Any time I want to see something such as a 1980’s commercial for the toy The Animal, a toy monster truck that was around when I was a kid, I simply go to you tube and search for “The Animal” and boom I found it. I look at you tube every day at work, simply to pass time. MySpace is a social media that I use very rarely, if at all. I see the good and bad side of MySpace. For some reason the people I work with only use MySpace to fight with other girls in a virtual drama fest, On the other hand it is nice to be able to find an old friend that you may be looking for. A friend of mine is a local pin stripe artist, and he uses MySpace as a free web site for his work.

Hmm. I thought that this would be very easy for me, i never have blogged before but i have used a lot of forums, I hope that i am entering the correct info is so sweet, if not and you are reading these may i ask for a little guidance.
