Sept 2 social medias
Social Medias such as MySpace and you tube, have changed the way I surf the internet completely. Any time I want to see something such as a 1980’s commercial for the toy The Animal, a toy monster truck that was around when I was a kid, I simply go to you tube and search for “The Animal” and boom I found it. I look at you tube every day at work, simply to pass time. MySpace is a social media that I use very rarely, if at all. I see the good and bad side of MySpace. For some reason the people I work with only use MySpace to fight with other girls in a virtual drama fest, On the other hand it is nice to be able to find an old friend that you may be looking for. A friend of mine is a local pin stripe artist, and he uses MySpace as a free web site for his work.

I am happy MySpace wasn't around until after high school for me (wayyy after high school) because I see my sister getting into the drama on there as well. I think for those of us 25 and older (but not too much older, that's just weird to see a 50 year-old on MySpace)...anyway, people my age seem to use it to post pictures and everything. I have seen more pictures of my friend's babies on MySpace than real-life because they live far away and everyone is busy. It has been nice to reconnect with some people too...four people from TGI Fridays have contacted me and Josh, and we haven't seen them in probably 5 years...so that is nice. But, I agree, many younger people use mySpace to bash each other and bully. Today in my Education class we talked about "cyber-bullying" and how it is going to be illegal soon...it has become a big problem, even with elementary students.

Did you read about Facebook? The guy invented it in his dorm room at Harvard...then later declined a $1 BILLION dollar offer from Yahoo! Crazy!
